$500,000 DONATION RECEIVED
IN MEMORY OF BOARD MEMBER BARRY COHEN

ALEXANDRIA, VA - April 29, 2013. The International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) announced today that the organization has received a $500,000 donation in memory of board member Abraham E. "Barry" Cohen who recently died. The donation was made by Osamu Nagayama, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chugai Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan.

Mr. Cohen had been a member of the ICMEC Board of Directors since 2003 and served as Vice-Chairman of the Board.

From 1982 to 1992, Mr. Cohen served as Senior Vice President of Merck & Co. and from 1977 to 1988 as President of the Merck Sharp & Dohme International Division. After his retirement from Merck in 1992, Mr. Cohen was an international business consultant and a member of several boards, including Chugai Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., Teva Pharmaceutical, Akzo Nobel NV, Vasomedical, Inc., BioTime, Inc. and Mannkind Corporation.

During Mr. Cohen's service on the ICMEC Board he recruited senior executives from several global corporations to the ICMEC Board. One of his personal objectives was to increase awareness around the world about what is happening to children and of the vital role that ICMEC is playing in addressing this epidemic of child victimization.

Mr. Nagayama and Chugai's donation of $500,000 will be used to help launch a global prevention and awareness campaign on the victimization of children. The campaign will impact the lives and the future of millions of children.
