World-renowned artist and International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) Board member Jeff Koons knows the anguish of international child abduction first hand. In the wake of the tragic abduction of his first son, Jeff worked with ICMEC to co-found The Koons Family Institute on International Law & Policy (The Koons Family Institute) to protect the world’s children. By combating child abduction and child sexual exploitation on multiple fronts – creating replicable legal tools, building international coalitions, bringing together great thinkers and opinion leaders – The Koons Family Institute is helping ICMEC build a truly global movement. Jeff and his family are dedicated to making sure children have what is most important: a childhood.
As ICMEC's in-house research arm, The Koons Family Institute conducts and commissions original research into the status of child sexual exploitation and child protection legislation around the world and collaborates with other partners in the field to identify and measure threats to children and ways ICMEC can advocate change to help make children safer.
