Multidisciplinary Teams

Multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) are formed before a school or organization faces an allegation of abuse. They may be composed of internal child protection designates or incident response team members and external representatives, possibly including law enforcement, medical, and social-emotional support agencies grounded in local law and trauma-informed care.

AISA advises clear guidelines should be in place when a MDT is involved in a case of abuse (such as for serious physical abuse, all sexual abuse, or when caregivers don’t respond to school-based child protection team recommendations).
