ALEXANDRIA, VA – The International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) extends its sincere condolences to the family of board member Arnold I. “Arnie” Burns who recently passed away.
Arnie was Founding Chairman of ICMEC and has served as a member of the Board of Directors since the organization was founded in 1999. He was a philanthropist and a fierce advocate for those causes and issues he believed in. His vision and commitment helped ICMEC build a global network. He was a great champion for children.
He served as Deputy Attorney General of the United States under President Ronald Reagan, overseeing law enforcement functions like the FBI, and all criminal prosecutions and civil actions initiated by the U.S. Government. He was a respected New York lawyer for more than 45 years and then became an important figure in banking and the financial world.
He was a man of decency and honor and was devoted to his family. He will be missed.
