E-Learning Modules on Child Sexual Violence

ICMEC has partnered with Evidentia Learning to develop and provide free high quality online training modules to healthcare professionals in low-income and lower-middle income countries. The modules are self-paced training programs developed by internationally recognized experts. The three dedicated modules focus on:

  1. Human Trafficking / Child Sex Trafficking

This module takes you through the dynamics of child sex trafficking and sexual exploitation, as well as risk factors, and potential indicators of exploitation. Appropriate strategies for recognition and response are described for the healthcare professionals.

2. Medical Evaluation of Child and Adolescent Sexual Abuse (abridged version)

This module provides a comprehensive, evidence-based educational experience, and is considered the new gold standard in child abuse education. It is for an international health professional audience working in low, medium and high resource settings who seek to understand and apply the multifaceted knowledge required to serve victims of abuse.

3. Trauma-Informed Care in Child and Adolescent Sexual Abuse

This module is designed for professionals working with traumatized minors and discusses effective strategies for interacting with victims of child sexual abuse and assault, emphasizing safety, transparency, respect and a strength-based approach.

While these e-learning modules are available to everyone, they are only available free of charge for professionals working in low-income and lower-middle income countries as defined by the World Bank.
